Self Discovery Is an Internal Process, Not an External One

At least once a week I get somebody to contact me, and tell me how he spent tens of thousands of dollars on courses, seminars, mentors, and just anything that promised success at the price of, well, money.

That person would then go on in a massive rant about how brave he is, and would expect me to feel the same.

Unfortunately, sometimes, spending a lot of money on self-improvement is that easier choice.

When you truly want to discover what your purpose is, what your goals are, what do you value, and all the other questions that are related to your life’s direction; The path of answering them is within, not without.

These same “brave people “are actually terrified of facing themselves, and so look for ever increasing investments and distractions from who they really are.

These same “brave people “are actually terrified of facing themselves, and so look for ever increasing investments and distractions from who they really are.

When I ask them to go to the beach for five or six hours and just sit there without their freaking phone and just be, they think I’m nuts!

“Nuts?” I ask them, “What about you, who just spent tens of thousands of dollars, and don’t even know what your goal in life is?”.

“What about you, who just spent tens of thousands of dollars, and don’t even know what your goal in life is?”.

The reason I tell these people to go to the beach and sit there for a few hours, isn’t to get them to levitate or something..

I tell them to go there without their phone because their brain isn’t functioning properly.

Asking your brain a question like “what’s my goal in life”, shouldn’t be a problem. When you can’t ask yourself these kinds of simple questions (that society generally want you to avoid the), you’re supposed to get an answer!

The reason we have trouble answering these questions, is because of the sheer amount of noise that we face on a day today basis that builds up over time and ruins our abilities of cognition.

Your brain has an automatic clean up feature, just like those you can download on your computer, only that it works automatically and all you have to do to activate it is to just stop fucking moving!

So something like going to the beach for a few hours without your phone, is basically clean up on steroids because you completely avoid outside distractions.

I personally had massive achievements by doing this and massive realizations, rational realizations, that allowed me to get a complete insight into what I actually want to get in life.

I’ve also seen 100% success rate in massive achievements with any person who actually listen to me and went into solitude for a few hours (especially at the beach).

So if you’re currently dealing with confusion regarding your life, if you have unanswered questions about your purpose, goals, values, or anything else that you would like to get answered, simply going to solitude for a few hours, especially at the beach, and do not bring your phone under any circumstances.

I have faith that you can actually make this happen, I know there’s definitely going to be a lot of resistance to it, which is to be expected, but if you go through this and make it happen, even out of desperation or inspiration, you will enjoy the gift of insights.
